Douw Gerbrand Faurie

Douw Gerbrand Faurie is a masters student at the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) in collaboration with University of Western Cape (UWC) under the supervision of Professor Andrei Kolesnikov (TUT) and Professor Mykhaylo Lototskyy (UWC). Douw’s research focusses on improving the designing practices and the knowledge base regarding metal hydride based hydrogen storage tanks using computational fluid dynamics. In his Honours bridge course in 2019; Douw completed all three modules cum laude.

In 2018 to 2019 Douw assisted in the training of national diploma students who were completing their work-integrated learning at the Tshwane University of Technology chemical engineering laboratories. This training specifically concentrated on data analysis, correct experimental procedures and project planning.
